Saimaa Gastronomy is a network of four passionate local food lovers, including the Siimes restaurant at PihlasResort, TeaHouse of Wehmais in Juva, Tertti Manor in Mikkeli, and Sahanlahti Resort in Puumala. Saimaa Gastronomy companies share a love for Lake Saimaa and its unique nature. All locations value local, pure ingredients and products from small producers. Delicious menus are built around seasonal products, and the offerings on the tables vary according to the seasons. In the joint themed weekends, each Saimaa Gastronomy location offers unique programs and delicious spreads. The Saimaa Gastronomy network’s themed weekends won the Best Food Tourism Product in Finland award in 2019.

PihlasResort’s summer season is about to begin, and with the sunny weather, it’s time to enjoy the light and warmth of our garden. At the Siimes restaurant, we celebrate summer by offering a summer menu that showcases the first flavors of the season.

May 25th, Saturday – Day Spa – Beauty Day at Pihlas
We are organizing an open-door beauty day at PihlasResort’s Day Spa on May 25th. Pihlas Beauty Day offers participants not only the opportunity to explore the quality products of Pevonia but also a chance to receive personal advice on beauty care.
In addition, participants can try out various beauty products and services hands-on. The day will be filled with a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, allowing participants to enjoy both beauty care and bubbly drinks.
The event is a comprehensive pampering experience for those who value beauty and well-being. Come and enjoy the beginning of summer at Pihlas!

May 26th, Sunday – Anastasia Injushina Piano Concert in Elo-hall
At PihlasResort’s Elo Hall, a piano concert by Anastasia Injushina is being held. The concert starts at 3:00 PM and lasts for 50-60 minutes. Anastasia is a respected pianist who has toured the world, and her artistry is known for its special poetry and sensitivity. The program of the piano concert includes works by the German composer Bach.
TEAHOUSE OF WEHMAIS
TeaHouse of Wehmais welcomes the arrival of summer with delicious tea tastings and a scone buffet.
TeaHouse of Wehmais opens its doors ceremoniously in honor of summer. The tea café is open on May 24th, 25th and 26th, from Friday to Sunday, offering visitors delightful taste experiences.

Sunday: 12.00 – 17.00
Flavor Burst
On Friday and Sunday, TeaHouse of Wehmais offers a delicious “Flavor Burst” tea tasting alongside traditional tea tastings. This special tasting includes various snacks paired with carefully selected teas. The price for Flavor Burst is €45 per person. The menu is filled with fresh spring vegetables, wild herbs, and delicious spring mushrooms.
Scone Buffet
On Saturday, TeaHouse of Wehmais hosts the popular Scone Buffet. The Scone Buffet includes both savory and sweet scones with various sides, combining fish, meat, and vegetables. Once again, the emphasis is on the freshness of spring. The price for the Scone Buffet is €29 per person, children aged 4-12 receive a half-price discount, and children under 4 can enjoy for free.

The unforgettable summer shop opens on May 24th in Tertti Manor’s old stone stable. Experience the picturesque summer shop and get to know new products among the first. During the opening weekend, there’s also a Bakery Bread Bar in the shop. Open from 10:00 to 18:00.

SAHANLAHTI RESORT
Sahanlahti’s summer begins with the Saimaa Gastronomy weekend!
Sahanlahti’s Rantamakasiini summer restaurant undergoes renewal, and alongside the popular pizzas and burgers, BBQ delicacies will be introduced. Head chef Veli-Matti specializes in smoking, and the menu will feature sizzling and smoky local meats and vegetables. BBQ Rantakasiini opens just in time for summer during the Saimaa Gastronomy weekend.
Sahanlahti celebrates its 10th year under the guidance of Jaana and Janne Kuivalainen with a special event on May 25th at the Koskivahti restaurant. The “Through the Kitchen” dinner will feature Sahanlahti classics. Come taste the dishes that have become classics over the years and hear the stories behind them. The dinner starts at 19:00, and seats are limited.
Something new is also offered on summer Sundays, as Sahanlahti now serves Sunday Roast instead of brunch! We want to dedicate Sundays to good food and togetherness. Starting from May 26th at 12:00, we will be serving the Sunday roast for the first time. Gather your friends or family and reserve a spot at the communal table. Despite its name, we also serve fish and vegetables, so preferences and dietary restrictions are certainly accommodated.
